People of the Human Race

ANCIENT Indiscretions of the elder clans,
Pointless murmurations of the also rans,
Returning of the faithful with the gold they kept in hand,
They left the hollow husks behind, the conscience and the empty mind,
To delve into the deepest dark, or soar up to the brilliant light,

People of the human race, disappear without a trace,
reappear in another place, to build anew the temples so they may pray again,

All the men and all the beasts, sunk into the depths,
The sudden devastation, reality in shreds,
and only those with eyes would see to make amends,
High atop Mount Horeb, the cat got the ambrosia,
Turned black coal into diamond, turned cloth into the shiniest silk,

People of the human race, disappear without a trace, reappear another place,
with memories of thought.. and passion all erased,
with memories of thought.. and passion all erased,

All that we can see and taste and feel, stuffed in a jar labelled human freewill,
floating on a shelf in a castle made of crystal,
Those that have come and gone and come have been playing this game
for a very, very very long time, on and on into infinity,
The power that keeps the light spinning out the thread of life,
runs to the core of everything that ever existed,

People of the human race, disappear without trace,
then they reappear again, never ever quite the same,
People of the human race, quietly replaced,
because the changes have got to be made, to keep the circle turning,
turning in place,

The pyramid of fire, a sacred symmetry, they built forever higher,
above the canopy, to touch the golden sun and climb the golden tree,
They looked for secrets in the sky, they poked the shepherds in the eye,
Illuminated DNA, to find the path and find the way,

People of the human race, disappear without a trace, reappear another place,
To build anew the temples so they may pray again,
To build anew the temples so they may pray again,
To build anew the temples so they may pray again,
